Cocoa beans native to the Mexican pre Colombian territory were extended to Ecuadorian Amazon rainforest and are the basis of chocolate and Mesoamerican foods including tejate, an indigenous Mexican drink.

SHEA NUT AND BUTTER

Shea nuts are obtained from the shea tree that is indigenous to many parts of Africa. The shea nut is the seed of the fruit of the shea tree. The fruit portion is typically removed to retrieve the hard-shelled nut. Shea nut is a very oil-rich seed.

Dried Split Ginger Root  (Zingiber Officinale) is a commodity that is highly valued in international markets for its aroma, pungency and high oil and Oleoresin content.

CASHEW NUTS

PEANUTS(GROUND NUTS)

The peanut, also known as the groundnut, goober, pindar or monkey nut, is a legume crop grown mainly for its edible seeds. It is widely grown in the tropics and subtropics, important to both small and large commercial producers. It is classified as both a grain legume and, due to its high oil content, an oil crop.

SESAME SEEDS

It is mostly used by Oil Crushers, Tahina and Halawa producers, sweet manufacturers, bread factories and other bakery industries. PALM KERNEL CAKES

The palm kernel cake (PKC) that is high in protein and fats content is mainly used as one of the main components for feedmeal formulation for the ruminant industry. The use of PKC as part of feedmeal formulation for the non-ruminant and poultry industry is limited due to its high fiber content (Wan Zahari & Alimon, 2004). It is recommended that the PKC component for poultry feedmeal formulation be capped at 15 to 25%. Additionally, the dirt and shell content needs to be reduced to below 7%. This could be done by removal of most of the shell and dirt present in palm kernel before the extraction process.

Tobacco leaves have short hairs which excrete a yellow substance which contains nicotine. The plant itself is an annual herb that bears five-petaled, trumpet-shaped flowers. Fresh-cut Tobacco leaves have a grassy scent. The leaves have a sharp, spicy taste that is tingly, like horseradish and pepper.

Dried Hibiscus flowers

Soya Beans

The soybean, soy bean, or soya bean (Glycine max)is a species of legume native to East Asia, widely grown for its edible bean, which has numerous uses.

Traditional unfermented food uses of soybeans include soy milk, from which tofu and tofu skin are made. Fermented soy foods include soy sauce, fermented bean paste, nattō, and tempeh. Fat-free (defatted) soybean meal is a significant and cheap source of protein for animal feeds and many packaged meals. For example, soybean products, such as textured vegetable protein (TVP), are ingredients in many meat and dairy substitutes.

Soybeans contain significant amounts of phytic acid, dietary minerals and B vitamins. Soy vegetable oil, used in food and industrial applications, is another product of processing the soybean crop. Soybean is the most important protein source for feed farm animals (that in turn yields animal protein for human consumption).

Raw dried Tumeric

Turmeric or Curcuma longa is a flowering plant in the ginger family Zingiberaceae. It is a perennial, rhizomatous, herbaceous plant native to the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia that requires temperatures between 20 and 30 °C (68 and 86 °F) and high annual rainfall to thrive. Plants are gathered each year for their rhizomes, some for propagation in the following season and some for consumption.

The rhizomes are used fresh or boiled in water and dried, after which they are ground into a deep orange-yellow powder commonly used as a coloring and flavoring agent in many Asian cuisines, especially for curries, as well as for the dyeing characteristics imparted by the principal turmeric constituent, curcumin.

Turmeric powder has a warm, bitter, black pepper-like flavor and earthy, mustard-like aroma.

Curcumin, a bright yellow chemical produced by the turmeric plant, is approved as a food additive by the World Health Organization, European Parliament, and United States Food and Drug Administration.

Although long used in Ayurvedic medicine, where it is also known as haridra, there is no high-quality clinical evidence that consuming turmeric or curcumin is effective for treating any disease.
